Sedum Autumn Joy is a clump-forming, herbaceous perennial valued for its succulent foliage and late-season colour. Sedum Autumn Joy is known for its large, broccoli-like green flower heads that turn deep pink and deepen to coppery-red as they mature. The plant is deciduous, dying back in winter. Sedum ‘Autumn Joy’ tolerates dry conditions and poor soils once established, but does not perform well in heavy, waterlogged sites. It is commonly used in perennial borders, rock and gravel gardens, and mass plantings, where its structural form and long-lasting flowers provide interest into autumn and winter, and it is also valued for attracting pollinators.
