Salvia ‘Red Dragon’ is an herbaceous perennial grown for its vivid flower colour and long flowering season. It forms a compact, bushy clump of mid-green, aromatic foliage, with upright spikes of rich red flowers produced from late spring through to autumn. Typically, semi-evergreen to deciduous in colder conditions, it may die back in winter and reshoot in spring. Moderately frost hardy, it performs best in warm, sheltered positions in cooler regions. It is commonly used in borders, cottage-style gardens, and mass plantings.
