Olearia odorata, commonly known as scented tree daisy, is a finely textured, evergreen shrub native to New Zealand, occurring naturally in dry grasslands, scrublands, and rocky areas throughout much of the South Island. It forms a dense, rounded habit with slender, interlacing branches and narrow, grey-green leaves that have silvery undersides and emit a pleasant fragrance when crushed. In late spring to summer, it produces masses of small, white, daisy-like flowers that are attractive to pollinating insects. It is commonly used in native gardens, shelter planting, revegetation projects, and low-maintenance landscapes, where it is valued for its delicate appearance, hardiness, and profuse flowering.
