Laurus nobilis, commonly known as Bay Laurel is an evergreen tree or large shrub native to the Mediterranean region. It typically grows to a height of 5–10 meters, though it can be pruned to maintain a smaller size. The plant has aromatic, dark green, lance-shaped leaves that are commonly used as a culinary herb. In spring, it produces small, pale yellow flowers, followed by dark purple berries in autumn. It is widely used for hedging, topiary, and as an ornamental tree in gardens, as well as for its edible leaves in cooking.
