Geum ‘Lady Stratheden’, commonly known as avens, is a clump-forming herbaceous perennial valued for its long-lasting, bright flowers and compact habit. It produces rosettes of softly hairy, mid-green leaves, from which arise slender stems bearing semi-double to double, butter-yellow flowers from late spring through summer. The plant is semi-evergreen to deciduous, depending on climate. It is commonly used in cottage gardens, mixed perennial borders, and edging plantings, where it provides continuous colour and combines well with other herbaceous species.
