Eucalyptus cordata, commonly known silver gum is a fast-growing evergreen tree endemic to Tasmania. It is particularly valued for its attractive silvery-blue, heart-shaped juvenile foliage, which often persists as the tree matures, and its smooth pale bark. Small white flowers are produced mainly from late winter into spring and are attractive to bees and other pollinators. Eucalyptus cordata is commonly grown for shelterbelts, screening, floral foliage, firewood and as an ornamental specimen tree, particularly on exposed sites.
