Carex virgata is a vigorous sedge of swampy areas throughout New Zealand. It has narrow arching bright green leaves and grows to about 90cm. A successful colonising plant, used for wetland planting and revegetation. Can be submerged under water for several days. Grows to approx. 1x1m when mature.
