Carex flagellifera, is an evergreen sedge native to New Zealand. It forms low, arching clumps of fine, hair-like foliage in shades of copper and bronze. Carex flagellifera creates a soft, cascading appearance. In summer, it produces inconspicuous brown flower spikes that rise just above the foliage. It is widely used in borders, rock gardens, mass plantings, and coastal or modern landscapes, valued for its colour, movement, and low-maintenance nature.
