Clianthus puniceus (Kaka Beak) are the most beautiful plants to add interest to any garden. Also known as “Glory Pea”, they have long beak shaped flower stalks that are full of honey that birds love to extract.
A pink variety “Roseus” was discovered in Wairoa, Hawkes Bay in the 1930’s. Clianthus can be freely propagated from seed, and it is recommended that fresh plants replace older ones every 4-5 years as they become woody and unsightly with age. Their beauty is in their youth!
For anyone wanting to purchase them, we are taking pre-orders now for summer when the next batch will be ready.
Keep it green
