Here’s 8 things to consider before you start your next landscaping project:
What are the key features you want to include? Think of hard landscaping elements as well as plantings
Measure your physical space, and the real life size of those features – can you fit them all in?
How much time do you want to spend on garden maintenance? Use this to help decide what type of plants you want
Think of your neighbouring landscapes – is there something you need to conceal? Or a scenic view to frame?
Will you use different spaces within the garden for different activities?
If you like deciduous trees and annuals/perennials, think about how your garden will look in winter
Paths need to have a purpose, and should lead more or less directly to the intended destination
Have you checked your soil type? Clay, sandy, or loamy? Acidic or alkaline?
Let us know if there’s anything you need help with in design, or simply just plant supply.
Cheers
