Quercus suber (Cork Oak) is a medium sized evergreen tree with a large spreading canopy. They are used for commercial cork production for wine bottles and flooring. It has a unique bark of cork which is rugged and cracked with a light grey colour and reddish brown tones in the fissures. Open branching as the tree gets bigger. Hardy to wind and drought. Grows to approx. 15m tall x 10m wide when mature.
